knock youth festival.jpgKnock Summer Youth Festival is a festival different to any other you’re going to experience.  The festival runs from July 23rd to the 26th and it is a weekend for people aged 18-35.This is the 8th year the festival will run and will build on last year when over 500 young people arrived in Knock for a weekend like no other.

Recently Cardinal Brady presented certificates of completion to those who participated in Soil For the Seed: Exploring our Faith as Adults over the last two years in Dundalk.  The programme will be offered again in Drogheda Community Services Centre, Scarlet Street, Drogheda from September 2009 – April 2011.

THE ASCENSION OF JESUS

The Christian doctrine of the Ascension holds that Jesus' body ascended to heaven in the presence of his apostles following his resurrection, and that in heaven he sits at the Father's right hand. 
In the Letter to the Romans (c. 56-57), Paul describes Christ as in heaven and in the abyss,  the earliest Christian reference to Jesus in heaven. The most influential account of the Ascension, and the earliest, is in the Acts of the Apostles 1:1-11, where Jesus is taken up bodily into heaven forty days after his resurrection, as witnessed by his apostles.
